To certain poor shepherds

“The first Noel the angel did say,

Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay.”

.

I’ve always taken the word “certain” to be a verb. But I’ve just realised, perhaps it’s intended to be an adjective.

Weird. I always thought it was a adjective. Never considered it to be a verb till just now.

I still say it’s an adjective… =)
