On death and internet posts

The tragic passing of one of our forum members at GMT reminded me today about something I wrote years ago in The Cyber-Phenomenon.

Have you ever gone back and read a post from a few months ago and thought “what was I thinking!?!” If you have, just think of what you’ll say when you read your posts twenty years from now. Sure, there will be evidence of growth over those years, but will there be tears because of how you treated someone who is now in eternity? … Don’t sow the seeds that will harvest waves of regret someday.

Thanks for this dude. Jafe said the same thing about people – “Be careful what you say today cause you may regret it tomorrow”. Kezia told me of this site and how you’d written some stuff bout Jolita and on that forum as well. Couldn’t comment under the forum, but just wanted to say thanks in person.

Hayden,

Thank you for the comment. I’m very sorry for your loss.

Yeah, so am I.
I was reading through some of your other stuff on here. No offence or anything but I really don’t get you Christians – the whole ‘God will fix everything’ type attitude. Ever stop and wonder if there’s stuff he can’t fix – like, maybe cause he let it happen?!

No offense taken. =)

There’s no doubt that we live in a broken, sin-cursed world. The question is, is there any meaning or hope in it. If God is not all-powerful and all-loving, we are in a whole lot of trouble because there is no one to rescue us from sin and all of it’s terrible results.

When tragedies happen, it can be difficult to believe that God is also all-wise. But He is. I don’t claim to have simple answers or a simple solution. But there is a gritty and real solution and He is Jesus Christ. Jolita believed that.

Are you a Christian? I gather from what Kez told me that you were Jolita’s boyfriend.

If you’d prefer to talk privately, my email is jason@givemetruth.net.

Yes, I’m a Christian! Thanks Jason! Praise God!

Whooohoooo! Welcome to the family, Den!!! =D “To the praise of [God's] glorious grace!!!” Love you, bro!!! =D

Praise God!!
