God Didn’t Give Because We Didn’t Ask

...ye have not, because ye ask not. James 4:2
When our prayers are not answered we often attribute this to a number of possible explanations, like:-
-It wasn’t God’s will;
-It might be God’s will but He wants me to wait;
-There is sin in my life and so He won’t answer the way I desire, even though I think He would be pleased with my request.
James takes his audience to task about the internal conflict raging in their lives that resulted in fighting amongst themselves (Ch 4:1-2), and then asking for the wrong things in prayer (Ch 4:3).
HOWEVER, James also tells his readers that there were times when they simply did not ASK, and that was why God did not GIVE.
What an astounding indictment! God stood ready and willing to GIVE, but nobody cared to even ASK!
Could it be that despite the divine illumination we have in James 4:2, that some 2000 years later, we are still missing out on multiple, daily and even constant blessings and grace from the good hand of our Heavenly Father, simply because we didn’t ASK?
