Now isn’t that something an unsaved ‘Scholar’ believing in ‘Ruckmanism’ when Peter S Ruckman was only TWO years old.

Now listen friend, you would be well advised not to mock a man who has read the Bible from cover to cover more than 150 times, has believed the KJB to be the perfect and inspired word of God since the very first day he read it, is an expert in both Hebrew & Greek, at the age of 89 still stands on a street corner of downtown Pensacola preaching the gospel to sinners, is still involved in prison ministry, whose church has sent out & supports more missionaries than most Fundamentalist mega churches and who hands out gummy bears to kids before his evening chalk talk sermons.

Oh and by the way, have you ever met the man or read any of his one hundred or more commentaries or books from cover to cover, just ONE?

Well until you have you had better show some charity because the Judgment Seat of Christ is nigh (‘archaic’ English for ‘at hand’)

Do you really not understand why those verses are as they are? If you do not, please email me and I’ll give you some ideas for research so you can learn about it. Until you’re willing to do your homework though, please stop anonymously seeking to shake people’s faith in the preservation and authenticity of God’s Word.

Re: Revelation 22:18-19, it cuts both ways. You suggest that the contemporary translations “take away” these verses. Have you considered that perhaps the KJV “adds” these verses?

Modern translations continue the wonderful heritage of contemporary translations of which the KJV is a part.

Your points seem like they’re intended as arguments so I’ll respond to each.

-The KJV is indeed copyrighted. Check out an Oxford edition KJV and you’ll see that copyright is vested in the crown. Not that this is relevant.
-”Thee’s and Thou’s” are good? Who says?
-True. So does every single modern translation I’ve ever seen including the NIV.
-Yes. So do the more recent translations.
-Poetry is not the point. Understanding the Word of God is.
-The KJV never was the text of the Protestant Reformation. That was a German translation. And others. And the English translation at that point was not the KJV.
-No one’s “retranslating” it. They’re making new translations in contemporary English. And, yes, these new translations are needed.

My question to you is, why don’t you post using your name? Maybe you’re unaware of the protocol, but that is generally viewed as cowardly.

Why do people hate the Word of GOD (KJV)?

It is not copyrighted.
It still has all the “Thee’s & Thou’s” in it.
It still has the “blood of Christ” in it.
It still “discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
It still reads like poetry and cuts like a knife.
It is still the text of the Protestant reformation.
It does not need to be retranslated, revised, edited or renewed it needs to be believed.
That book is the King James Bible.
It is God’s word, without error, for English speaking peoples all around the WHOLE EARTH!!!!

The Creed of the Alexandrian Cult

1) There is no final authority but God.

2) Since God is a Spirit, there is no final authority that can be seen, heard, read, felt, or handled.

3) Since all books are material, there is no book on this earth that is the final and absolute authority on what is right and what is wrong: what constitutes truth and what constitutes error.

4) There WAS a series of writings one time which, IF they had all been put into a BOOK as soon as they were written the first time, WOULD HAVE constituted an infallible and final authority by which to judge truth and error.

5) However, this series of writings was lost, and the God who inspired them was unable to preserve their content through Bible-believing Christians at Antioch (Syria), where the first Bible teachers were (Acts 13:1), and where the first missionary trip originated (Acts 13:1-52), and where the word ‘Christian originated (Acts 11:26).

6) So, God chose to ALMOST preserve them through Gnostics and philosophers from Alexandria, Egypt, even though God called His Son OUT of Egypt (Matthew 2), Jacob OUT of Egypt (Genesis 49), Israel OUT of Egypt (Exodus 15), and Joseph’s bones OUT of Egypt (Exodus 13).

7) So, there are two streams of Bibles: the most accurate (though, of course, there is no final, absolute authority for determining truth and error: it is a matter of “preference”) are the Egyptian translations from Alexandria, Egypt, which are “almost the originals,” although not quite.

8) The most inaccurate translations were those that brought about the German Reformation (Luther, Zwingli, Boehier, Zinzendorf, Spener, etc.) and the worldwide missionary movement of the English-speaking people: the Bible that Sunday, Torrey, Moody, Finney, Spurgeon, Whitefleld, Wesley, and Chapman used.

9) But we can “tolerate these if those who believe in them will tolerate US. After all. Since there is NO ABSOLUTE AND FINAL AUTHORITY that anyone can read, teach, preach. or handle, the whole thing is a matter of “PREFERENCE.” You may prefer what you prefer, and we will prefer what we prefer; let us live in peace, and if we cannot agree on anything or everything, let us all agree on one thing: THERE IS NO FINAL, ABSOLUTE, WRITTEN AUTHORITY OF GOD ANYWHERE ON THIS EARTH.
