Josh Williamson is particularly gifted by God to evangelise the lost. I have observed this as I’ve watched his ministry from a distance for years now. To be honest, it was not his passion for evangelism that impressed me—that was the norm in the circles from which I’d come. Rather, I was impressed by his biblical theology and his balance.
Josh affirms The Baptist Confession of Faith (1689) which was affirmed by Charles Spurgeon and which is based on The Westminster Confession of Faith (1646). Josh was trained at Malyon College in Queensland and is currently doing postgraduate study at Spurgeon’s London Reformed Baptist Seminary.
Josh and his wife Louise believe God has called them to serve as missionaries in England where Josh plans to serve an evangelical church in an evangelistic capacity. He is guaranteed no salary from the church so he is depending on God’s provision to continue his work. At his website, you can see his biographical details, statement of faith, endorsements, and plans for ministry. I’ve discussed here the issue of how best to raise funds for mission. I’m not sure where exactly this fits in that conversation, but as I understand it, Josh intends to leave for England within weeks, so this is an opportunity for you to speed him along in that process.
I commend Josh’s ministry to you and encourage you to consider how you might have a small part in helping the Williamson family get to London to do what God has called them to do.
